Tarbell Haze begins with icy blue and luminous white washes, crowded by ink-black, cobalt and amber forms, with a small flash of crimson near the waist; the mineral-like marks scatter densely from the scoop neckline through the bodice and into the pleated flare. The sleeveless skater dress has an elastic waistline, a mid-thigh skirt and smooth, elastic polyester fabric with elastane. Its soft drape lets the artwork break into dark pools and bright flecks as the skirt moves, like a geode caught in motion.
