Pastel Mayhem is a dense, continuous collage of lavender, misty aqua, acid-lime and ember-orange forms, with eyes, loops and creature-like silhouettes drifting across the front, sides and top. Black outlines give the composition its lively pulse, while the backpack’s restrained shape lets the color do the work. It is made from water-resistant polyester, with a silky lining, soft mesh back and padded ergonomic straps. Inside, a large compartment includes a separate pocket for a 15-inch laptop; a zipped pocket hides on the back. Carried against a simple outfit, it reads like a moving fragment of surrealist painting.
