Cobalt Construct is a lively grid of cobalt, fiery red, electric yellow and cool aqua, each block held in place by thick black lines. Larger aqua and red rectangles anchor the front, while yellow bars and blue squares break across the legs and waistband; the pattern continues around the sides and back. The men's board shorts have a straight, relaxed shape in polyester with spandex, plus an adjustable drawcord waistband, two side pockets and a flap-covered rear pocket. Against sand or pavement, they read like a moving piece of modernist architecture.
